DIET – for me it is a scary word. Diet as being used by mostly all people means…” I am going on a diet”… which translates to: I will change the way I usually eat for a period of time and then…………. and then the same thing happens over and over again. Most of the time we will achieve the desired weight goal and inches and keep it maybe for a month or so and then back to our old eating habits and of course the weight comes back with the inches and then with some additions, which mean …. “I am going on a diet”… again for a party or a date or to fit into particular skinny jeans or a dress………
This “YO-YO” syndrome creates numerous problems with our body and health. According to most medical professionals it is healthier to stay overweight than be in the YO-YO syndrome……….The fat distribution during the diet fads, leaves and then reappears in other unwanted various parts of our body. Your heart and digestive system work much harder to maintain your inner balance. The YO-YO syndrome is a welcoming ground for diabetes which is the number one killer. The immune system weakens and opens the door to growth of cancer cells.
All this scary information unfortunately is true………..
THEREFORE DIET – IS NOT A TEMPORARY SOLUTION TO LOSE WEIGHT, IT IS A WAY TO EAT AND LIVE EVERYDAY. IT IS A BALANCED CHOICE OF FOOD CONSUMED DAILY TO KEEP US HEALTHY AND HAPPY WITH THE WAY WE LOOK.
Over the years, I have undergone numerous fad diets to achieve desired weight and then …. back to my way to eat and yet again on a diet to lose weight, until I have undergone a liposuction procedure and was scared that whatever I achieved will be lost if I go back to eating my old ways. So, I have looked into alternative dining out methods of eating. Even fast food restaurants can offer a solution to healthier eating habits.
Lets say you like McDonald’s and have to have it once in a while. NO PROBLEM! Eat a burger the healthy way……… Yes, someone may say there is nothing healthy about eating a burger,… but you can eat a healthy burger – Eat a burger without the bun, that’s all. Still have tomato, and onion and grilled mushrooms if you like, even cheese one slice will not hurt your diet…and of course the lettuce – ask for protein style so especially if you are asking for a double patty burger……… Another healthy way to eat I found at restaurants: return the bread and butter that is offered free at the table before your meal comes. Instead of ordering the main course order the appetizer or a tapas plate, you will be surprised how filling it will make you. Order one main course if you like and share with your companion. AND please eat slowly, I have found that usually I am not hungry by the time the main course comes. Also sharing the food at the table with everyone is a great way to maintain your weight and feel satisfied at the same time..
…Try it my way and enjoy the results…..I have been eating this way now for 8 years and happy with my results……………..
Best wishes, Jenny
